Extended Dinner, A Duet

By Boomie Bol and Noel Ihebuzor

Spoon fed by desire
Nourished by lust
Lavishly drunk on love

Satiation soon
Repeatedly reached
In phases

Joy brimming as
Fingers, fork, tongue, mouth, taste buds
feel, feed and sweet fill

Nourished to the brim
My essence is filled
Full lips wiped in happy delight

This poem was born from my response to Boomie Bol’s poem; Untitled: Dinner. The first and last verses are Boomie’s while the second and third (italicized) are mine. Such a pleasure to do the duet with Boomie who is a great poet with a very warm voice. Please visit her blog for a delicious treat in poetry! O se, Boomie..

SILENCE–HAIKU TRIPTYCH

A HAIKU CHAIN by Susan L. Daniels and Noel A. Ihebuzor

it echoes–
this pause before words
weighted breath

It speaks loud
the empty spaces
between words

those moments
minds falter before
sharing truth

*** A haiku conversation between my duet duet partner and I. Came about after I commented on the main poem she wrote. Susan’s Haiku is in normal font, mine is italicized.

Haiku – Slum

By Noel Ihebuzor

Souls stuck in a cage,

seething with savage rage, as

hope drifts and minds roast

barren space,

yet lush in crime, grime

running wild

festering red sore

child of  need and greed

slowly choking life

Haiku Prompt – “First”

By Noel Ihebuzor – three haikus

1.

First always resides

in the past but conditions

present and future

2.

First sings best where souls

script rich lines in shared colors,

that merge past and now

3.

First hands etch deep marks

on soft canvas of fresh souls

marks that free or freeze

Haiku Heights Prompt: Vital

By Noel Ihebuzor

Haiku on Vital

From “life” in one tongue

though often lost sight of when

we clutch wild at winds

blinkered by trifles,

we chase blank shadows and let

essentials slip by

The true essentials

touch deep, eternal truths shine

bright, stars on dark night

Vital, life giving

energy laden, bubbling

healthy and vibrant

clear eyes and clean hearts

find you in the complex and

hug your cool calm warmth

Haiku on “True”

By Noel Ihebuzor

Haiku on True

True speaks not false nor

fake, voice genuine to self and

you, clear, clean and real

Opposite of false,

true stands upright, shiny bright

while false falls in slime

the false , with time,  drinks

shame;  the true with time flowers

petals blooming proud

Haiku on Love

By Noel Ihebuzor

When we love, we roll

wrap and reap, when love goes, we

rip, rant and regret

When we love, the sun shines

cool calm blue, humming magic

hearts glow, beings vibrate

When love goes, glow fades

blues come, gloom sings, hurting hearts

pull back, pain throbbing

Haiku on Wisdom 2

By Noel Ihebuzor

Slow to grow and glow

wisdom’s seed once blooming soon

the soul with peace fills

its bright rays flow deep

reflections expanding thought

making it richer

richer minds then reach

rainbow outputs, clean thoughts, peace

world and soul happier
